This is not the subway in Tokyo but the sightseeing train to Hakone.
Having travelled thousands of miles I am surprised to find a Swiss style coffee shop.
This delivery truck has every corner used for storage.
A long line of people is waiting for the funicular.
Passing over the first areas with volcanic activity.
Those hot tubs are way too hot for taking a bath.
It's just the right temperature to boil eggs though.
The baskets are lowered carefully into the water.
And after some time the eggs are hard boiled and black.
And they taste somewhat sulphorous and are said to help to live longer.
Cruise boats are waiting at Lake Ashi.
A German style butchery in the middle of nowhere of Japan.
My bed for tonight at the Fuji Hakone guest house.
Even a shop for porcellane from Meissen in Germany is found here at Mt. Fuji.
Fuji Hakone guest house premises.
During off-season it's possible to have the 8 person gondola all by myself.
The woods around Hakone start to show their autumn leafs.
